If you run geographically targeted advertisements in search engines and social media networks, you should know where the sweet spot is for distance requirements. According to an article from eMarketer, ads targeting people between 2-5 miles away were clicked on by 20% of viewers. Those in the 1-2 mile range clicked on the ads 12% of the time.

It's now officially the few days before the New Year, where shoppers are out in flocks to nab end-of-year deals. If you plan on using geotargeted ads, be sure to use this advice and target your most local neighbors. Keep the range under 5 miles for the best performance rates.
